Our objective when providing legal advice is to both protect and advance the interests of the University. We do this by having a firm grasp of the law and the University’s strategic plan, mission and values. FIU is an academic community and we are mindful of the multiple and unique facets matters in higher education may encompass. We provide advice that considers all of the facets of a particular issue, involves creative problem-solving and provides University faculty, administrators and other staff with well-considered analysis to aid in informed decision-making. We encourage you to contact us if you are considering a new project or endeavor with legal dimensions. Early identification of legal considerations through involvement of the legal staff in the early stages of a new project or endeavor usually helps projects and endeavors proceed more efficiently.
